Notice of Appointment of Members of the Child Protection Committee

In exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 93 of the Children Act 2009, and of all other enabling powers, the Minister with responsibility for Care has appointed the following persons as members of the Child Protection Committee for the period of three years as from the date of publication of this notice.

The Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police (in whose absence the Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police shall be a member)
The Director of Public Health
The Director of Education of HMGOG Department of Education
Education Advisor of HMGOG Department of Education with responsibility for Child Welfare
The Medical Director of the Gibraltar Health Authority (in whose absence the Deputy Medical Director shall be a member)
The Director of Nursing and Ambulance Service of the Gibraltar Health Authority
The Clinical Lead for Mental Health Services at the Gibraltar Health Authority
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Office of Criminal Prosecutions & Litigation
The Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Sports & Leisure Authority
The Chief Executive of Gibraltar Cultural Services
The Senior Crown Counsel at the Ministry of Justice
The Senior Crown Counsel at the Care Agency
The Director for Services, Safety and Standards at the Care Agency
The Head of Children’s Services at the Care Agency
The Head of Therapeutic Services at the Care Agency
The Head of the Learning Disability Services at the Care Agency

As Secretary to the Committee
Karina Ferrary, Personal Secretary to the Chief Executive of the Care Agency
A member of the Committee who is unable to attend a meeting of the Committee, may, by notice in writing to the Secretary, nominate a named substitute to attend the meeting on his behalf. A person nominated shall, with the leave of the Chairperson, be deemed to be a member of the Committee for the duration of that meeting.
Legal Notice No. 418 of 2021 is revoked.
